WINTER GARLIC BULB WEIGHT LOSS DURING STORAGE DEPENDS ON PROTECTIVE COATINGS

Purpose. To justify elements of the post-harvest winter garlic processing technology that will increase storability and shelf life garlic. The working hypothesis was based on assumption it is possible to use a modified paraffin-containing coating, which stability bulbs during storage. Methods. General scientific: 1. method - drawing up experimental designs; 2. – designs laboratory experiments; 3. methods analysis synthesis conclusions summarizing, computational analytical. Results. Covering with mixture 90% shellac (food additive, E904) + 10% aloe vera gel ensured storage length 145 days daily weight loss 0.036%. 20% sunflower wax increased 142 0.036%, while paraffin coating period 100 0.10%. It established control specimens stored at reduced relative air humidity (RAH) (60– 70%) significantly lost their weight. in RAH 8.2%, i.e. 2.5-fold. protective film by 4.6–5 times 60–70%. Increasing 75–85% 90–95% 4.7–5.3 2.9–3.1 times, respectively. With similar experiments 75% 5% glycerin wax, gel, 85% 65% 30% (the 0.044%, respectively), lengths were not equal. Bulb coatings extended 25-45 depending composition. longest (142–145 days) achieved 0.036%). Conclusions. effects bulb amounted 76.0%, contribution 12.0%, interaction studied factors accounted for 12.0%.
